The best flatmate ever possible

There is too much to sum it all up in a few lines
But all the moments with you were much better than just fine
From the beginning I thought we could get along quite well
Not only do we accept each other, we incredibly gel

I’ve always liked our flat, but much more when you moved in
Not because you brought a microwave or a rubbish bin
And not because any flatmate’s better than living alone
It’s because it’s YOU and with you it kind of felt like home

I was moved to tears when you surprised me on my nameday
And you always found time for me no matter Saturday or Wednesday
Anytime I came to you for advice or help
And it was SOOO often, because you always seemed to understand

And never gave me feeling: „Don’t bother me with this“
Even in case of banal problems, you tried to provide tips
How I should deal with different types of situations
I would like to thank you for your neverending patience

When I spoke about one thing one hundred times
I think you should be nominated for the first prize
For how you can listen – not only with ears, but with heart
I still cannot believe that so soon we will have to part

Not only have you never driven me mad
What made me sad, thanks to you seemed less bad
And when I was in good mood, you made me feel even better
Not only flatmate, but a friend in all kinds of weather

And though you’re so much younger, I learned a lot from you
Sharing a flat with a stranger was for me something really new
But it has always felt so natural and never even little strange
I was proud of having a flatmate that I would never change

Thanks for being the way you are, so amazing and kind
Thanks for all the great moments, I’ll always keep them in my mind
Dinners, films, talks, volleyball, bar or walk in snow
Before we say goodbye, I want you to know

Even if on Sunday you didn’t see me shed a tear
You’re one of the best things that happened to me here
I wish you that every day of your life is going great
